A2Heaven FM Radio NDA

Listen to your favorite FM stations from your Apple IIgs computer! The A2Heaven FM Radio card was developed by Plamen Vaysilov in 2026 for the Apple II line of computers. Installation manual

  1. Insert the FM Radio diskette in the Apple IIgs floppy drive.
  2. Double-click the "Installer" program.
  3. Install the "Desk Acc: a2heaven FM Radio" extension script onto your boot disk.
    The following files are copied onto your startup disk:
    - System:Desk.Accs:A2HeavenFMRadio
    - System:Fonts:LED.24
  4. Restart your computer.


Main window features

  • The big text indicates the current channel frequency.
  • Use the Preset pop-up menu to switch between pre-programmed stations. You can also save a station, see below.
  • Buttons from first line are:
    • Soft-menu to get less noise,
    • Mute to output... silence,
    • Volume down or up.
  • Buttons below allow you to:
    • Tune down by frequency step set in (7),
    • Seek down or up,
    • Tune up.
  • Buttons from the bottom line set:
    • Bass boost (yes, really),
    • Mono/Stereo value,
    • RDS on or off.

    You can store up to 8 preset stations in the Radio FM. When you click the "disk" button, the frequency is saved onto the card at the preset of the pop-up menu.
  • The Band pop-up menu sets the range of the minimum and maximum allowed frequencies found in the world.
  • The Spacing pop-up menu allows you to adjust the frequency by an increment of 100, 200, 50, or 25 KhZ,
  • If the radio sends RDS data and the option is activated, it will be displayed in below the big frequency.


Troubleshooting
  • Application won't open
    Check to be sure that the FM Radio is installed.
  • No sound from the IIgs
    Plug external speakers.
  • Poor signal quality
    Change the antenna's position.
  • Too few channels found
    Change the antenna's position.


Minimum system requirements

The program requires at least 16KB of free memory.
It has been tested on Apple IIgs ROM 01 & ROM 3 versions.
It is compatible with System 6.x and above.
